when you see the combo of these 8 MAC BRUSHES: 150, 190, 194, 168, 275, 266, 239, 316 on eBay, they are most definitely going to be counterfeit. a lot of sellers somehow have tons of these sets and i mistakenly bought one and thankfully was refunded.

when looking at the pictures, pay attention to the ferrules.

authentic mac ferrules kind of fan out, and the brush tapers into them.

every single one of these brush sets on ebay have straight ferrules, and straight handles. they smell of chemicals, and some of them are plastic.

the lip brushes are rusty on the inside of the metal cover.

please do not purchase these sets from eBay! and spread the word!!!

That's more brushes than usually come in a MAC-released set, as well. Usually it is only about 5.

M·A·C also does not sell full sized brush sets any more. This is to stop folks splitting the sets up and trying to obtain a refund or exchange on the individual brushes.

New tip for identify fake Mac brush:

Authentic Mac brushes ALWAYS come in plastic sleeves WITH PRODUCT'S BARCODE PRINTED ON THE PLASTIC SLEEVE. The handle is heavy and sturdy, the bristle's texture is fine and held securely by the ferrules. The more you wash the softer it will get.

Fake Mac brushes come in plain plastic sleeves packing without barcodes printed on the plastic sleeve. The handle is made of bad quality wood, feels like you could bend it, and its got a horrible strong odour of paint and it smells like they just painted it. The bristle's texture is dull and does not hold very securely by the ferrules. All the bristles will fall off after just one wash...yuck...

De rest van de discussie gaat vooral over individuele gevallen en de vraag of hun aankoop fake was of niet.

Het is in elk geval de moeite waard om je lid te maken van het forum ! Heel veel toffe en leerrijke topics.

Ik heb vandaag eens tijd gemaakt om mijn borstels deftig te kuisen (komt er anders niet zo vaak van ...). Ik heb een speciaal product van Shu Uemura maar dat is nu bijna leeg en ik ga denk ik niet in Antwerpen geraken binnenkort, dus ...

Waarmee maken jullie je borstels schoon? Met een speciaal product of met gewone (baby)shampoo? De mijne zijn (als ze me niet in 't zak gezet hebben toch

) van natuurhaar, dus ik zou ze wel graag in goede staat houden ...

Speciale producten zijn daarvoor niet echt nodig.
Eens uitwassen met shampoo en goed uitspoelen.
En ook eens uitwrijven op een watje in ether gedrenkt (dit laatste af en toe).

Jawel : ik gebruik daar elke shampoo voor die het dichtst bij staat.
Wel neutrale shampoo, ik bedoel, ik ga niet de antihaarroosshampoo gebruiken die ik bij de apotheker koop, maar ik ga er ook niet speciaal babyshampoo voor kopen.

Ik heb (om het over iets anders te hebben) hier al van meerdere mensen gelezen dat een Kabuki borstel zo goed is ... ik heb nu een grote poederborstel van natuurhaar, is daar dan zo veel verschil in?
